Job Description

The AMELIA Sales Director will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales objectives by promoting and selling Amelia, a leading conversational AI solution tailored for high-volume Contact Centers. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of experience in Contact Centers across Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance as well as experience supporting employee functions like IT Service Desks, HR, Facilities, and Events. A deep understanding of contact center tools and processes, including CCaaS platforms such as Genesys, Five9, NICE, and others, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in Amelia’s portfolio, with a focus on enhancing Customer Experience outcomes in large Contact Centers through conversational AI and Generative AI integration.
  • Build, manage, qualify, and close deals within a rolling 12-month sales pipeline.
  • Make prospecting a consistent part of your routine to ensure a steady flow of new prospects.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate contract vehicles to penetrate specific clients.
  • Engage cross-functional Amelia resources (Engineering, Marketing, Proposal Development, Finance) at the right stages of the sales cycle.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and business priorities.
  • Develop compelling points of view on how autonomic and cognitive solutions can transform prospects' businesses.
  • Leverage Amelia’s Partner relationships to sell into clients, whether as a Prime or Subcontractor.
  • Ensure Amelia delivers consistently excellent service, as reflected in customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Take a leadership role in industry trade associations and attend relevant events.
  • Actively participate in the RFP process and demonstrate the ability to take on multiple roles.
  • Continuously learn about new Amelia solutions and refine your selling skills.
  • Assist in contract negotiations.
  • Deep understanding of how to qualify and manage objections in complex sales cycles.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 15+ years of sales experience selling into corporate Enterprise clients (G2000/F500) and larger, specifically Global Banks and Financial Services firms headquartered in or around New York.
  • 10+ years of experience in Contact Centers across various industries and support areas.
  • Strong knowledge of Contact Center tools and processes, including CCaaS platforms like Genesys, Five9, NICE, etc.
  • While experience with autonomic and cognitive solutions is not required, experience with analytic solutions that impact operational business processes is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of sales cycles, regulations, and experience working with top decision-makers.
  • Proven track record of achieving assigned quotas.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of 20+ opportunities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven success in prospecting, building a pipeline, advancing opportunities through the sales cycle, and presenting solutions to C-level executives and other decision-makers.
  • Ability to craft solutions that align with business priorities based on client discussions.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Example of a Large, Complex SaaS Conversational AI Project:

Imagine a global financial services company with a sprawling Contact Center network handling millions of customer interactions monthly. The company is looking to modernize its customer engagement by implementing a Conversational AI solution across multiple regions and languages, integrated with their existing CCaaS platforms like Genesys and NICE.

The Account Sales Director would lead the effort to tailor Amelia’s solution to this client’s needs, leveraging natural language understanding (NLU) to automate customer inquiries, reduce wait times, and improve customer satisfaction scores. The project would involve complex integrations with the client’s existing systems, such as CRM, billing, and fraud detection, while ensuring compliance with global financial regulations. Success in this engagement would require a deep understanding of the client’s business processes, close coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and a strategic approach to scaling the solution across the client’s operations globally.

Base Salary: $170-175k +commission
