What you’ll be doing

As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive information security program to protect Squirro’s assets, ensure compliance, and foster client trust. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will align security strategies with business goals, enabling innovation and scalability while mitigating risks in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

You will develop and implement a security roadmap aligned with Squirro’s growth and innovation goals. This includes leading initiatives to achieve and maintain compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and more. You will identify, evaluate, and mitigate cybersecurity risks while overseeing incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies. Your role will involve deploying security policies and technologies that scale with the organization, integrating DevSecOps, and managing cloud and third-party risks. You will also foster a security-first culture by driving awareness and training programs and establishing KPIs to measure security program effectiveness while communicating progress to stakeholders.

Here’s what gets us excited about you

• Proven experience as a CISO or in a senior-level information security role within startups.
• Hands-on technical experience with AWS and Azure as well as programming languages such as Python are desirable.
• Deep expertise in compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2), risk management, and cloud security.
• Technical proficiency in IAM, DevSecOps, threat intelligence, and advanced cybersecurity tools.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience communicating security risks to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCISO, CISM, CISA, or CRISC (additional certifications like AWS Security Specialty or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor are a plus).
• Experience with GRC platforms like Drata, Vanta, or Thoropass is highly desirable.
